Seth Godin:

We happily give up our freedom and our income in exchange for having someone else take responsibility for telling us what to do next.

The question: is that exchange good, bad, or somewhere in between? There is, after all, some psychological (and possibly even practical) sense of security from letting someone else take charge.

The “taskmaster premium” carries too high a price for me, but can I say that it’s always a bad deal for everyone?
